He said Numan was freed late Saturday and taken to a private hospital in Barnarwa and a diagnostic medical centre for treatment by CAN officials, his family and other church leaders.
“Rev. Elisha Numan was released on Saturday night after two weeks in captivity. He was released after a ransom was paid following series of negotiations with the bandits. We thank God for his mercies. We pray for God’s intervention in the calamity that seems to have befallen us as a nation,” Hayab said.
“We will also continue to call on the government and the security agencies to do everything within their powers to stop the increasing spate of criminality across the country, especially the increasing wave of kidnappings in Kaduna.”
The abductors, about 20 of them, stormed the preacher’s residence on August 14.
The cleric’s son, Emmanuel, was also taken but set free to get the ransom ready in five days.
