Skit maker and actress Bukunmi Adeaga-Ilori, popularly known as Kiekie, has expressed gratitude to Independent Newspapers after winning the Social Media Influencer of the Year award.
Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, she shared a video capturing key moments from the event, including her award acceptance and a lively moment with actress Rita Dominic.
Reflecting on the recognition, she wrote, “On Saturday, the 15th of March 2025, I was honored with the award of Social Media Influencer of the Year 2024 at the prestigious INDEPENDENT AWARDS by @independentngr.”
She described the occasion as humbling, highlighting how she sat at the high table with top executives, traditional rulers, governors and senators, calling herself the youngest person at the table.
“In that moment, I felt the power in my craft one more time. I was again humbled and inspired by this girl Oluwabukunmi Adeaga-Ilori,” she added.
Kiekie went on to appreciate Independent Newspapers for recognizing the work of content creators and entertainers.
“Thank you @independentngr for acknowledging the work that I and my colleagues do on the social space and in the entertainment industry at large. I’m grateful for the honor, the spotlight, and the prestige that this award gives me.”
She also gave a special shoutout to her fanbase, the Kiekstarters, saying, “This thing we’re doing is 4L! We’re not ever stopping 
. I love you plenty 
.”
This latest recognition adds to Kiekie’s growing list of achievements.
In July 2024, she won the Force of Influence award at the Trendupp Awards, which celebrates the most influential content creators in Nigeria.
She was also named YouTube Influencer of the Year at the 2023 Pulse Influencer Awards.
