Juju music maestro, King Sunny Ade, and songstress, Omawumi, were special acts at the International Night 2017 at Ikoyi Club 1938 on Friday.
The annual event which usually features the juju legend was given a fillip this year with the addition of the 2007 West African Idols runner-up.
Dressed in a shimmering gold coloured off-the-shoulder gown, Omawumi thrilled the audience with new and old songs taken from her debut and sophomore albums.
She was a delightful curtain-raiser to a grand evening that proved a rallying point for both old and new members of Ikoyi club.
Speaking in the intermission between Omawumi’s performance and King Sunny Ade’s arrival on stage, Chairman of Ikoyi Club 1938, Babatunde Akinleye, thanked members for turning out in large numbers and wishing them the best of the season.
Promising that Ikoyi club will always live up to and surpass their expectations, Mr Akinleye said: “We will make Ikoyi Club the envy of all clubs.”
King Sunny Ade who was dressed in white took the stage at about 11.45 and soon had the crowd dancing and singing along to his evergreen classics for hours.
Royal father of the day was the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo III.
