Pop musician, Kizz Daniel, has refunded the N3million he was reportedly paid to perform at Babcock University.
Multiple media reports had claimed the 24-year-old was held hostage by students of the school for coming late.
It was alleged the singer delayed the students for seven hours and refused to perform unless organisers of the show provided a Mercedes G-Wagon to transport him and his team to the venue of the event.
The students were said to have surrounded his car and insisted on getting a refund from him.
A statement signed by the president and secretary general of the Babcock University Students’ Association on Monday, however, said Kizz Daniel could not perform because he arrived late from a trip to Dubai.
The statement added that there was no formal agreement stating performance time and the university has strict rules on timing of events.
Confirming that the money paid to the ‘Yeba’ singer has been refunded, the association disassociated itself from negative reports about Kizz Daniel and the university students as a fallout of the show.
Kizz Daniel had on Friday performed at the One Musicfest in Dubai.
The event also featured performances by Davido, Wizkid and Diamond Platnumz among others.
