Kizz Daniel’s mega-hit ‘Buga’ has been listed as the most searched song on Google in Nigeria in 2022 after receiving domestic and international acceptance.
Google on Thursday, December 8 announced the results of its 2022 Year in Search showing ‘Buga’, ‘Anikulapo’, ‘Oxlade’, and ‘who is Peter Obi’s running mates?’ among the most searched topics, people, and questions by Nigerians in the year 2022.
Google’s 2022 Year in Search contains a compilation of people, topics, moments, events and places, and high-profile deaths that stole the world’s attention during the year.
‘Buga’ was listed as the number one song but came sixth in the top 10 trending searches.
Other songs that made the list include ‘Overdose’ by Mavin crew, ‘Machala’ by Berri Tiga ft Carter Efe, ‘Calm Down’ by Rema, and ‘Rush’ by Ayra Starr.
Yul Edochie, Osita Iheme, and Judy Austin also made the list of top trending actors.
In July, ‘Buga’ also topped the list as the most googled song in Nigeria in the first quarter of 2022.
Reacting to the news, the singer said he wants ‘Buga’ to trend as the most googled song in the world, not just in Nigeria.
Reacting with a sad emoji, he wrote, “I want the world.”
Kizz Daniel teamed up with fellow artiste, Tekno, on the track which became an instant hit because of the easy dance moves that followed it.
Since its release in May 2022, ‘Buga’ has caught the attention of both young and older demographics.
