Filmmaker Kunle Afolayan and his younger brother Aremu Afolayan have felicitated their mum Omoladun Afolayan on her 80th birthday.
The siblings posted their tributes in separate posts on Instagram on Monday.
“Maami, Omoladun Ayanladun Afolayan née Ogunrinde turned 80 years.
“We thank God for his goodness and mercies so far.
“Party loading,” Kunle wrote along with an old black and white picture of his mum when she was much younger.
His brother Aremu also posted the black and white picture of their mum with the message “Happy Baiday maami. 80 years is the glory of God.”
Their half-brother Gabriel Afolayan wrote in the comment section of both posts to wish the celebrant a happy birthday.
Kunle and Aremu are estranged although they have the same father and mother.
The two are yet to work on a film together.
Kunle, however, featured their mum in his 2017 film Roti and featured Gabriel in his 2020 film Citation.
Gabriel is also set to appear in Kunle’s upcoming film titled Ijogbon.
Kunle also featured his half-sister Moji Afolayan in his 2022 film Anikulapo.
Gabriel and Moji have the same mother.
They are all children of the late film and theatre legend Adeyemi Afolayan, better known as Ade Love.
Aremu recently lashed out at his immediate and extended family members for not buying him a car.
Speaking in a recent video posted on Instagram, the 42-year-old said “This message is for my extended and relational family. Whoever you are, whatever you people are, including the ones that call themselves siblings of my father and mother, Ogun will kill all of you.
Calling on a friend standing behind him, he asked “Why can’t we find a single person to buy us a car? What kind of useless fate is this?
Kunle once described Aremu as stupid for saying in a 2019 interview that their father was poor and could barely provide for his family in spite of his fame.
