Filmmaker Kunle Afolayan has completed his work on the set of Tunde Kelani’s movie Ayinla and returned to pre-production of his new movie.
The 46-year-old shared pictures from the Ayinla set in an Instagram post on Tuesday.
He said it was an honour to work alongside acts such as Tunde Kelani, Lateef Adedimeji, Mr Macaroni and Bimbo Ademoye.
“Alara ni ngbe’ra ga” It is not my fault that I am specially made. I wrapped on the set of Ayinla a Tunde Kelani film yesterday and I must say it was such an honour working with the amazing cast and crew,” he wrote.
The movie by Kelani is coming 40 years after Ayinla was fatally stabbed with a glass cup during a pub brawl on May 6, 1980, in Ago Ika, Abeokuta.
Kelani seeks to answer the questions “Who is Ayinla Omowura? Why is his music still relevant after his tragic death 40 years ago? And what is the root that nurtured his craft and music?”
On December 7 Kunle revealed that Nollywood actors Eniola Badmus, Deyemi Okanlawon, Chioma Akpotha and Lolo 1 will be starring on his next movie.
Kunle did not reveal the title of the movie.
