Filmmaker Kunle Afolayan has met with the President of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, at a reception held in his honour at Nike Art Gallery, Lagos.
Kunle shared photos and videos from the event on Instagram, where he was invited to be among the notable guests receiving the German president.
“It was a great honour to have been invited to meet the President of the Federal Republic of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier at the reception held for him at the Nike Art Gallery Lagos,” he wrote.
“It was a night of fun with my friends and brothers in the art.”
Kunle also discussed some of his projects and international collaborations with Mr Steinmeier, including Triangle of Need, an installation film he worked on with American artist Catherine Sullivan.
The filmmaker highlighted his earlier international experience saying, “My first visit to Canada where I partnered with an American company… That was my first time. I fell in love with Canada.”
President Steinmeier, who had earlier met with President Bola Tinubu in Abuja on Wednesday, also interacted with startup entrepreneurs in Lagos on Thursday.
Others in attendance included Segun Adefila, musician Patoranking, Jahman Anikulapo and Ade Bantu.
