Filmmaker Kunle Afolayan has released the official poster for his forthcoming series Anikulapo: Rise of the Spectre.
Kunle dropped two posters on his Instagram account on Friday, months after wrapping up production of the series.
“Coming soon to Netflix!!! @naijaonnetflix,” he captioned the post.
Anikulapo: Rise of the Spectre is a sequel to the movie Anikulapo released in 2022.
The series will feature Sola Sowobale, Kunle Remi. Bimbo Ademoye, Owobo Ogunde, Gabriel Afolayan, Lateef Adedimeji, Eyiyemi Afolayan, Uzee Usman, Oyinda Sanni and Taiwo Hassan.
The filmmaker in a 2022 interview with the Guardian UK, said Anikulapo series will be bigger than HBO’s Game of Thrones.

He said: “I’ve been working on AnĂkĂşlápĂł for six years. Originally, I wanted to make a series but I shopped it and kept telling people that this movie would be bigger than Game of Thrones. Eventually, Netflix told me to make a movie first since I believed in the project that much and if it became a success, we’d develop a series.”
The movie got 16 nominations at the 2023 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA). Anikulapo won five awards altogether, including best overall movie.
Distributed by Netflix, Anikulapo has an IMDB rating of 5.5.
