Kunle Afolayan’s KAP academy announces 2025 filmmaking masterclass

KAP Film & Television Academy, founded by filmmaker Kunle Afolayan, is set to continue its intensive Filmmaking Physical Masterclass for aspiring filmmakers and beginners looking to gain hands-on experience in the industry.

A statement released on February 7 announced that the first session for 2025 will begin on February 25 at the KAP Hub in Ikeja, Lagos.

According to the statement from Afolayan’s office, “the training will cover key aspects of filmmaking, including screenwriting, directing, editing, sound design, production design, cinematography, acting, producing, and the business side of the industry.”

He added, “Participants will engage in both theoretical and practical sessions, working on real-life projects under the guidance of some of Nigeria’s top industry professionals.”

Afolayan encouraged interested applicants to register via the academy’s website as slots for the exclusive masterclass are limited.

Since its establishment, KAP Film & Television Academy has trained over 100,000 students through both e-learning and physical classes.

The institution boasts a distinguished faculty that includes industry veterans such as Tunde Kelani, Judith Audu, Tunde Babalola, Ope Ajayi and Bimbo Akintola.

The academy has also partnered with global institutions such as the Mastercard Foundation, Netflix, the University of Southern California (USC) and diplomatic missions from France, Germany and the United States in Nigeria.
