Actor Kunle Remi has recounted how he almost died by suicide in 2017.
The 34-year-old disclosed this in a recent Instagram post while reacting to the death of American DJ Stephen ‘Twitch’ Boss.
Stephen who was the official DJ on Ellen DeGeneres Show died on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at a motel in the Encino area of Los Angeles.
According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner, Twitch died by suicide after battling depression.
Speaking in a short video on Instagram, an emotional Kunle Remi said: “We never really look fine as we are, speaking as men, we go through a lot.
“2017 was tough for me, I was overwhelmed, growing through a lot, and so many thoughts in my mind, and at a point, I couldn’t take it, I was close to committing suicide.
“It took God’s grace to scale through….I used to bottle up stuff but now I have learned to hare and talk to someone….life is beautiful but we need to always choose a balance between happiness and sadness, let’s do better.”
This is coming after the actor’s onscreen wife Bimbo Ademoye who also mourned Stephen on Instagram revealed she battled with depression.
She wrote: “This one hurt. He was so full of life. Coming from someone who has battled depression. It’s kinda hard to hang in there. Rest well.”
In another post, the 32-year-old urged her followers to show kindness to one another because some people deal with hurt differently and not everyone can handle heartbreak.
