Singer and actress has revealed that Lagbaja wrote their hit song ‘Never Far Away’ before she joined the band.
Ego, who left the band in 2006, disclosed this in an interview with the QEDNG publisher, Olumide Iyanda.
She said: “This is a song that is a classic for years to come, it will always be there and you had the of having been part of this and you have the privilege to perform it anytime you like. I am happy that people still request for it, people still want you to sing, it’s a blessing so why would I not want to do it.”
“The funny thing is he wrote the song and that song had been in existence before joined the band and again that was another thing because they were always telling me about this song, this mystery song.
“So each album that we recorded and he didn’t include it they would be like “Ah” and the last album, we were about to start recording and he was like ‘There is this song’ and as he was singing it to me and I was like ‘wait oo Its this song oo,’ and then we were putting it together and it was like it was you God said it is you that I’m going to give this honour and it’s such an honour to have to be the one chosen to perform that sing.”
