The Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) has indefinitely suspended cosmetic surgeon Dr Anuoluwapo Adepoju.
Her suspension followed the death of her patient Nneka Onwuzuligbo after a reported failed surgery.
MDCN took the interim disciplinary action against Adepoju on Monday pending the determination of her case with its disciplinary tribunal.
The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) in a statement acknowledged the council’s move.
“The commission finds all such actions or measures commendable,” the statement posted on Twitter read.
The FCCPC re-arraigned Adepoju on July 17 before a Federal High Court in Lagos for alleged evasion from investigation into the reported case of failed plastic surgery.
She was first arraigned on July 3 alongside her medical outfit MedContour Services Ltd before Justice Mohammed Liman in Lagos.
