A motorist on Monday morning knocked down and allegedly killed two sanitation workers of Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) along the Gbagada Expressway.
The motorist, who is at large, was fleeing arrest by officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) when he ran into the LAWMA workers, eyewitnesses said.
Unconfirmed reports say the deceased were siblings residing on Ajenipa Street, Ladi-Lak area of Bariga.
The incident caused a standstill on the expressway for several hours.

Hoodlums also blocked some parts of the expressway in protest until the police intervened.
Jubril Gawat, senior special assistant to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, shared a video on social media, showing normalcy had been restored to the area.
“Gbagada Expressway … ALL CLEAR at the moment. The Nigeria Police formations still on the ground to forestall breakdown of Law and Order,” he wrote.
