Commissioner for Health in Lagos, Prof. Akin Abayomi, has paid a visit to the Italian infected with coronavirus (Covid-19) at the Mainland Infectious Disease Hospital in Yaba.
The Italian is in isolation at the centre after falling ill and testing positive to the virus.
Abayomi, in a tweet early Saturday, said he spoke with the man whose identity is being withheld and assured him of the state’s ‘resolve to ensure he gets adequate care.’
The commissioner also tweeted saying he inspected the ongoing renovation of the isolation wards.
“The renovation should be completed in a couple of days. I am satisfied with the renovation and preparedness work in the hospital,” he said.
The Italian visited Lafarge cement facility in Ogun during his short business trip to the country.
About 28 persons who had contact with him at the facility have been quarantined.
