Lagos State Government has said that the enabling law to permit the reintroduction of monthly sanitation is being worked on.
Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tunji Bello, made this known on Wednesday during a stakeholders’ meeting with Association of Commodity Market Women and Men, led by the Iyaloja General of Nigeria, Folasade Tinubu-Ojo.

Mr Bello described the invalidation of the exercise by a court as a temporary setback which would be reversed very soon.
A Federal High Court in Lagos had in 2015 nullified the monthly environmental sanitation policy of the state government which involves keeping citizens indoors for three hours.
Justice Mohammed Idris held that there was no law in force in the state that allows any citizen to be kept indoors compulsorily.
A lawyer and rights activist, Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa, had filed the suit.
