The Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, has said that the state has begun investigating the ‘unprofessional conduct’ of the staff who allegedly filmed former Big Brother Naija housemate Rico Swavey.
A 30-second video clip showing the final moments of the late reality star at a hospital in Lagos State attracted condemnation from members of the public.
In the clip recorded by one of the nurses attending to the deceased, Rico was placed on oxygen as he was unconscious on a chair.
The nurses could be seen arguing over the next action to take while another was heard cautioning her colleague against filming Rico Swavey.
“You people should stop making the video; somebody is dying, you people are making video,” the nurse said.
Reacting to the video in a statement on Thursday, Omotoso said the state government had commenced an investigation on those who also appeared in the video.
He said, “That hospital is not a government hospital; we have started an investigation into the unprofessional conduct of those who appeared in that video.”
Rico died on Thursday, October 13 after a ghastly car accident.
