Lagos State Government has announced the death of four more coronavirus (COVID-19) patients.
Commissioner for Health, Akin Abayomi, said in a Twitter thread on Thursday that the latest coronavirus-related deaths take the state’s tally of fatalities to 42.
Prof Abayomi wrote: “📣199 new #COVID9 infection cases were confirmed in Lagos. The new cases bring the number of confirmed #COVID19 infection in Lagos to 2970.
“📣Additional 17 fully recovered #COVID19 patients; 6 females and 11 males were discharged. Total number of #COVID19 discharged patients in Lagos now stand at 649.
“📣Additional 4 #COVID19 related deaths were recorded in Lagos. Total number of #COVID19 related deaths in Lagos rises to 42.”
The commissioner did not give further details on the latest four casualties.
The four cases, however, make up 200 who have died of the disease nationwide as of May 20.
