Special Assistant to Lagos State Governor on Health, Dr Tunde Ajayi, says the state will be discharging six of the patients at the Infectious Disease Hospital, Yaba.
Ajayi said in a tweet on Thursday that the patients would be discharged as they have recovered from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
“Six of our #COVID19 inpatients have recovered and will be discharged soon. There is something Lagos is doing right. Lagos takes the lead,” he wrote.
Commissioner for Health, Prof Akin Abayomi, confirmed the proposed release in a phone interview with Nigeria Info FM on Thursday.
No less than 32 cases of the virus have been detected in Lagos.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control said late Wednesday that there are now 51 confirmed cases of the deadly virus in the country.
