Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, has denied a media report which quotes him as saying President Muhammadu Buhari’s return to Nigeria may be hampered by a faulty aircraft.
A statement on Sunday by media aide to the minister, Segun Adeyemi, said his principal “has not spoken to anyone on the issue of the President’s return, hence this report is another from the stable of the purveyors of fake news and should be disregarded.
The statement was issued after the Presidency announced that Buhari has written to National Assembly to request extension of his vacation abroad.
The President had planned to return to Abuja on Sunday evening, but a statement by his spokesman, Femi Adesina, said he was advised to complete the test cycle before returning.
According to Adesina, “The notice has since been dispatched to the Senate President, and Speaker, House of Representatives.
