Minister of information and culture Lai Mohammed will lead a Federal Government team in engaging with Twitter executives over the micro-blogging site’s suspension in Nigeria.
Mohammed, in a statement on Tuesday, said President Muhammadu Buhari had approved a team in that effect.
The team will also have the attorney-general of the federation and minister of justice, Abubakar Malami; minister of communications and digital economy, Isa Pantami; and foreign affairs minister, Geoffrey Onyema.
Others are minister of works and housing, Babatunde Fashola; and minister of state for labour and employment, Festus Keyamo; as well as other relevant government agencies.
“This is with a view to charting a path forward,” the statement added.
Mohammed further said Twitter wrote to Buhari seeking to engage with the Federal Government with a view to charting a way forward.
He noted that Twitter’s operation was suspended indefinitely because of its activities that were capable of undermining Nigeria’s corporate existence.
