Deputy chief news producer at Africa Independent Television (AIT) Lara Wise and others have expressed sorrow over the death of the founder of Nikkisworldblog Adenike Adewunmi-Adebisi.
Adewunmi-Adebisi, who died pregnant on Thursday, was hoping to mark her 50th birthday with the birth of her first child.
It was gathered that she complained of shortness of breath and died before getting to the hospital.
On Thursday, Wise posted videos of the deceased dancing on Facebook and said she was always full of life.
“This is how I choose to remember you my darling Aburo. Never a dull moment.
“You made us all very happy with your jokes and posts and you were loyal to a fault. I can’t fathom this. I can’t wrap my head around this. It doesn’t make sense at all. Oh Nike, Iye’m,” she wrote, adding crying emojis.
Wise added in a post on Friday that although she was initially pained, she feels peace because she knows that Adewunmi-Adebisi and her baby are happy where they are.
Columnist and commissioner for information in Ondo State Bamidele Ademola-Olateju wrote, “Pacifist, demure humorist and she whose disharmonoous dance steps is as amusing as it is enthralling. I know of no one else on Facebook like you. You were one of a kind. I am gutted! Shocked beyond thought. I just know that heaven was made for people like you.”
Former chief press secretary at Kogi State Government house Petra Akinti-Onyegbule said, “You were a delight. A pure soul in whom there was neither guile nor hatred.”
Media law expert Richard Akinnola, wrote, “I don’t even know what to say. Each time the death of someone confounds me like that of Adenike Adebisi, my recourse to spiritual catharsis is to listen to the last message of Archbishop Benson Idahosa on The Benefit of Death.”
