The Lagos State Government has presented a brand new car to the winner of the star prize in 2018 One Lagos Fiesta (OLF) raffle draw, Ayodeji Omoboye.
Mr Omoboye, a resident of Igbogbo in Ikorodu, was handed the car at a brief ceremony at the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture in Alausa, Ikeja.
“I am very happy and it’s a thing of joy to me,” Omoboye said.
The Commissioner of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Steve Ayorinde, during the official presentation of the car and other consolation prizes, appreciated all stakeholders especially the major sponsors whom he described as the backbone of the event.
He also said that the One Lagos Fiesta was not all about music, but also involves entertainment for children, adding that the key component of the fiesta was to hunt for fresh talent through the Lagos Grows Talent competition.
The ministry’s permanent secretary, Abosede Adelaja, in her welcome remark, said, “Today is a fulfillment of that promise Lagos State Government had made to Lagosians and that the state makes promises and fulfils them.”
The sponsors represented by the marketing manager, CIG Motors, Kayode Adejumo, said the brand was proud to sponsor the fiesta, promising even more cooperation with the state government.
The winners of the consolation prizes include: Adesanya Gbenga of Agric Owutu, who won an air conditioner; Orenuga Adebimpe, who won a rechargeable fan; while Oreoluwa Olayinka and Olalekan Yusuf won rechargeable lamps and torchlights respectively.
The winners commended the state government and their sponsors for the innovation.
