Fashion entrepreneur and blogger, Laura Ikeji, has criticised an unnamed man who questioned her comment on boxer, Anthony Joshua’s, loss.
The 30-year-old entrepreneur discussed her reaction to the man’s comment in a series of tweets on Tuesday.
“So I commented on the JoshuaRuiz fight on a page and some guy said, what do u know about boxing pls go sell your shoes jor. Dude’s comment was very belittling. Go sell your shoes?? Would he have said that a male commenter who sold fashion items for a living?” she wrote.
She continued, “Making it seem like selling shoes is trash or any fashion any item for that matter. Ol boy needs some education, there is money in fashion especially now that there’s a platform called Instagram where people re trying to impress people daily.”
Laura later advised the unnamed man, saying: “Don’t belittle anyone trying to make a living doing legit businesses. And don’t ever think women have no say in sports. Don’t play yourself hun.”
Joshua lost his World Boxing Association, International Boxing Federation and World Boxing Organization titles to Mexican boxer, Andy Ortiz Jr, in a major upset on Sunday.
After losing the fight, Joshua told Sky Sports that he was “beaten by a good fighter,” but promised to return.
