Human rights lawyer and activist Dele Farotimi has been arraigned before a Magistrate Court in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State on allegations of defaming the character of senior lawyer Afe Babalola.
Mr Farotimi was arrested on Tuesday in Lagos by operatives of the Ekiti State Police Command and brought to court on Wednesday morning at approximately 10:25 am.
The activist faces a 16-count charge of libel linked to statements in his book, Nigeria and Its Criminal Justice System.
