Actress and filmmaker Ego Boyo has urged the management of Lead British International School to set up an anti-bullying policy following an assault on a female student.
Ego Boyo said this in a post on her X account on Wednesday in which she stated that “Any school of that caliber should have policies in place to take care of any situation.
“There should be an anti bullying policy, a safe guarding policy et alIn 2024? Come on, waiting for govt agencies to take charge of a school matter? Come on now A fail.”
Meanwhile, the Federal Ministry of Education on Tuesday summoned officials of the school over the incident.
At the meeting, the minister of state for education Yusuf Sununu emphasised the administration’s stance against any form of harassment or intimidation within educational institutions.
Sununu expressed deep concern over the circulated videos and assured that the Federal Government would take decisive actions to forestall reccurrence in any institution of learning.
The minister appointed a seven-member committee to thoroughly investigate the circumstances surrounding the documented incidents.
The committee’s mandate, he said, was to investigate the events as depicted in the videos and come up with expanded investigation to other schools, using Lead British International School as a case study, to address broader social vices.
