A former spokesperson of the defunct Atiku Abubakar Presidential Campaign Organisation Daniel Bwala has debunked claims that a female student of Lead British International School in Abuja, who was filmed while being bullied in school, was his daughter.
Two videos showing the student being manhandled went viral on social media in the early hours of Tuesday.
In one of the videos, the victim was seen being slapped repeatedly by another female student while asking “Who broke my heart?”
In the second video, the victim was assaulted again while sitting next to a male student who was heard saying “I spoilt her relationship”.
Mr Bwala said in a statement posted on X that he does not know the girl and that none of his children attends the school.
“My attention has been drawn to a viral video circulating on all social media platforms alleging that my daughter was bullied or assaulted. For the records, the young girl in the video is not my daughter, I do not know her, nor do I have any of my children studying in that school,” he wrote.

The lawyer said the victim in the videos should be commended for showing restraint in the face of provocation, adding that his own child would have fought back in self-defence.
Bwala said he had reported the incident to law enforcement, noting that violence and bullying are not acceptable in society.
He added, “I was equally told by someone who thought she was my daughter and acted before chatting me, by contacting the so-called school and that the school claimed both girls are minors and therefore should be treated as such. If a school can say that, you can imagine what they are teaching the students.”
The school said it has set up a “dedicated team” to investigate the incident.
