Leeds United are interested in signing Nigerian striker, Jerry Mbakogu, from Italian side Carpi after scouts from the Championship club were spotted watching the player in action at the weekend.
Mbakogu is yet to be capped by the Super Eagles despite impressive displays in the European nation.
His latest outing produced another goal, his seventh of the season to help his side overcome Spezia 2-1.
Carpi, however, do not want to part ways with the 25-year-old at this point in time, and the Whites may have to wait until the end of the season if they wish to complete a possible deal.
It is quite obvious that Leeds need extra firepower up front with Pierre-Michel Lasogga currently in poor form and Kemar Roofe and SamuSaiz the only options.
Mbakogu is confident as can be seen by his ability to find the back of the net in the Serie B and he could bolster the Leeds attack.
