Nigerian actress, Funke Akindele, has urged all parties involved to make the 2019 general elections safe, secure and credible by avoiding all forms of provocation.
The 41-year-old funny actress said this via a tweet on Tuesday.
“Provocation is the cause of major violence in elections in Nigeria. Don’t be provoked. Avoid provoking others. Respect everyone.
“Treat others the way you want to be treated. Let’s make 2019 elections safe, secure and credible,” she wrote.
Funke Akindele who welcomed twin sons with her musician husband JJC Skillz in December 2018 is not the only celebrity to speak about politics recently.
Pop musician, Davido, on Sunday said that entertainers were tired of being threatened and coerced to stay out of politics.
He insisted that Nigeria was the business of entertainers as well and they have stakes in how the country should be run.
