2008 MTN Project Fame West Africa winner, Iyanya Mbuk, has denied report that his decision to start a new label was due to a misunderstanding with business partner, Ubi Franklin.
The duo set up Mode Men Music Group (also known as MMMG or Triple MG) in 2011 with artistes like Tekno, Selebobo, Mr Chibbz, Tonye Garrick, Emma Nyra and Baci on its list.
Iyanya’s announcement earlier in the week that he would soon launch a new label and new album prompted speculation that all was not well with him and Franklin.
The ‘Kukere’ singer was said to be unhappy at, among other things, the departure of artistes like Baci and Emma Nyra.
Franklin was in a relationship with Emma before he fell in love with and got married to actress Lilian Esoro last year.
Iyanya has however shut down claim his new venture is a product of a misunderstanding with the man at whose wedding he played a major role.
His denial came via a Wednesday Instagram post in which he also described Lilian as “the best woman in the world for him” and “a good cook too”.
Safe to say Iyanya is not about to throw away his friendship with Franklin the way he does his shirt on stage.
