The last one month has been the strangest for Arsenal faithful.
Many appeared to have gone AWOL following their club’s pathetic run of form.
Sunday’s limp 2-1 defeat at Brighton & Hove Albion was their fourth in a row in all competitions.
Never a time had the north London club suffered such pitiful run since Arsene Wenger took charge over two decades ago.
In 2018 alone, they have lost eight matches already, 13 points adrift of fourth-placed Tottenham.
Winning the Europa League is the only realistic chance of returning to the Champions League.
That mission seems to be nearing reality following an impressive 2-0 victory at AC Milan on Thursday.
Aaron Ramsey and Mesut Ozil eased the burden on Wenger with the goals in Lombardy.
As expected, many Gooners came out of hiding to applaud the team.
Here’a what few said on Twitter.
What if Arsenal lost to Brighton just to fool AC Milan. Looks like AC Milan took the bait.

If this is how Milan play after ‘significant recent improvement’, what the hell were they like before? #ACMvAFC

7 times UCL winners, in form Milan didn’t lose in 13 consecutive matches, didn’t concede goal for 539 minutes but ‘finished’ Arsenal destroyed them in their own yard. I love this game.

That was a superb performance. Look at in isolation & it had everything. Expansive, clinical first-half. Experienced, controlling second-half. Don’t know if Milan are up to much these days, but 2-0 away at the San Siro will always be a superb result. #afc

Arsène Wenger in the San Siro:
2003 – Inter Milan’s heaviest European defeat in history
2008 – the first manager ever to lead an English team to beat AC Milan in the San Siro
2018 – he’s done it again

What did we learn?
⚽We have good players
⚽They show up and play well when they fancy it
⚽Milan are really bad
⚽Wenger is going to do it in the Europa, he’s never leaving pic.twitter.com/pSLh4VT4bb— Le Grove (@LeGrove) March 8, 2018
Had no doubt we would do these. The level of our players is so much higher than that of Milan. Only team in Europa that can match us is Atleti.
