Many entertainers are not big fans of music critic and Editor-in-Chief of Pulse, Osagie Alonge, if recent happenings are anything to go by.
The music commentator comes out smoking in his weekly online video series, #factsonly, where he talks about music and everything related to it.
However, Osagie’s bluntness when on his show has earned more enemies than friends in the music industry in Nigeria.
Qed.ng takes a look at music stars and celebrities he has had an axe to grind with one time or the other. Here we go:
Danagog
The HKN act is not hapy with Osagie who called him an ‘average crap’ and so responded in a controversial manner by posting a picture of the music critic with a ‘RIP #OsagieAlonge’ caption recently on Instagram.
Osagie, however, in his unusual manner responded by putting up a picture with the words “Whatever you do, don’t be average crap” on his own page days later.
M.I
The spat between M.I and Osagie Alonge started when Osagie implied that Chocolate City has been reduced to its lowest status ever because MI became president despite the presence of talented acts like Koker, Ruby Gyang, Victoria Kimani and Nosa and others which has not helped the fortunes of the label.
The beef got even worse after the 2015 edition of the Headies where M.I said some artistes are adept at offering their fans ‘fast food music’. Osagie went on to suggest that MI was hitting at fellow rapper, Olamide, known to have dropped five albums in five years, with the statement.
As expected, this got M.I angry, prompting the “short, black boy from Jos” to fire back at the entertainment writer, warning him to stop talking about him.
M.I further branded Osagie “stupid” in an Instagram post.
Burna Boy
Dancehall act, Burna Boy, is another entertainer that Osagie’s remarks have hit at the wrong spot. In an episode, Osagie had described Burna Boy as “a talented artiste heading to the path of destruction.”
According to him, the ‘Like to party’ singer was too prone to non-music related controversies which could cloud his career eventually.
Burna Boy, in an unmeasured response, threatened to physically descend on Osagie whenever and wherever they come across each other.
Moe Musa
The genesis of the beef between Mr. Moe Musa and Osagie is the concept used in Davido’s ‘Skelewu’ video. Osagie believes Moe Musa stole the idea from LMFAO’s ‘Party Rock Anthem’ video and backed the claim with visuals from both videos.
In his response, Moe Musa wrote an open letter describing Osagie as a failed journalist who should be slammed with a lawsuit although he didn’t do that himself.
Davido
Not surprisingly, HKN Boss, Davido is on the list of entertainers not happy with Osagie. The beef began recently when Osagie accused the singer of buying YouTube views for the video of Omo Baba Olowo’s new artiste, Mayorkun’s ‘Eleko’.
Osagie compared ‘Eleko’ video which chalked up over 1 million views in less than a month to the video of Ycee’s popular song, ‘Jagaban remix’ which was released about three months ago and featuring Olamide but with just over 600,000 views.
Davido fired back with a not-so-nice tweet urging the entertainment journalist to keep his name out of his mouth and stop talking about people half his age.
