Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has been ruled out of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying match between Nigeria and Ghana due to illness.
The team announced on Tuesday via Twitter that he had been replaced by home-based John Noble.
“Maduka Okoye out of the clash against Ghana due to illness, he has been replaced by Enyimba FC goalkeeper, John Noble. Get well soon Maduks!” the team said.
At lunchtime on Tuesday, nearly all 25 invited players had arrived at The Wells Carlton Hotel and Apartments.
The team will leave for Kumasi on Thursday and play Ghana at the 40,000 capacity Baba Yara Stadium on Friday evening as both teams battle for a ticket to the 22nd FIFA World Cup finals.
The return leg will be at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.
