Socialite Pretty Mike has claimed that Magodo is a haven for women engaging in extramarital relationships.
During a recent interview with Arise TV, the nightlife promoter claimed that many women in Magodo suspicious of their husbands’ infidelities have resorted to secret liaisons to seek personal fulfillment, often without their spouses’ knowledge.
Mike’s comments come in the light of the scandal involving Baltasar Engonga, the now-dismissed anti-corruption chief in Equatorial Guinea, who was embroiled in controversy after explicit videos surfaced showing him with multiple women.
In his remarks, Mike highlighted cultural differences regarding open marriages, pointing out that some societies condone extramarital affairs when both partners agree.
He elaborated, “In certain communities, it’s accepted for husbands to be with other women and wives to pursue similar arrangements.”
The socialite claimed this trend is prominent in Lagos, particularly in the Magodo area.
“Magodo is the epicentre. Married women there are frequently involved with younger men, unbeknownst to their husbands,” he asserted.
Mike suggested that some women engage in these affairs out of a desire for “fair play,” reacting to perceived indiscretions by their partners.
“They know their husbands are straying, so they say, ‘If they can, why not us?’” he explained.
Magodo, situated in Lagos’ Kosofe LGA, lies between the Ikosi-Ketu and Ojodu Berger districts.
Known for his headline-grabbing stunts, Pretty Mike disclosed in 2022 that he has fathered six children with different women.
