Singer Tiwa Savage has revealed her admiration for her younger colleague Ayra Starr.
In a recent interview with Kiss FM in the United Kingdom, Tiwa shared her experiences of early career criticism and openly stated that she is “obsessed” with Ayra Starr.
The revelation came after an audio of Ayra Starr’s previous interview was played. In that interview, Ayra was asked about the women she looks up to. She mentioned Tiwa Savage, Tems, and Tyla, calling Tiwa a “queen.”
Tiwa expressed deep admiration for the younger artiste when asked how Ayra Starr’s response made her feel.
“I love Ayra (Starr). I’m obsessed with her. She’s amazing and genuine too. It makes me emotional because when I started, I got criticized a lot for dressing too sexy and my lyrics being too risky,” Tiwa said.
She continued, “So seeing someone like Ayra now… If I see her wearing the short skirts as they say, I’m like, ‘make it shorter.'”
Tiwa emphasised that Ayra looks amazing and is extremely talented.
