Governors of South-West states converged on Lagos on Thursday for a meeting to discuss regional matters, including security and economic development.
Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde arrived at Lagos House in Ikeja alongside his Ondo and Ekiti counterparts, Lucky Aiyedatiwa and Biodun Oyebanji, around noon.
They were later joined by Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun and Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke.
Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who chairs the South-West Governors’ Forum, is hosting the gathering in the executive chamber.
Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, had earlier stated that the meeting would focus on key issues such as agriculture, food security and regional development.
Security concerns are also on the agenda.
The last meeting of the forum was held in Lagos on June 10, 2024, where Sanwo-Olu was unanimously appointed chairman.
The media is expected to be briefed at the end of the meeting.
