Nigeria’s Minister of Women Affairs, Aisha Alhassan, has said that women were “very disappointed” over Hillary Clinton’s failure to win her bid to become America’s first female President.
“I am very sad about the outcome of the elections; we women have been robbed again,” Alhassan, popularly known as Mama Taraba, told the News Agency of Nigeria on Wednesday in Jos.
Former US Secretary of State, Mrs. Clinton, who contested on the ticket of the Democratic Party, lost the race for the White House to her Republican rival, Donald Trump.
She has since called to congratulate the winner and also wish him well.
Alhassan, who lost the 2015 Taraba governorship election to incumbent Darius Ishaku, expressed optimism that the womenfolk would be luckier next time in their bid for equal opportunities to serve humanity.
