Former Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Aisha Alhassan, popularly known as Mama Taraba, has undergone a knee replacement surgery.
She had on April 17 urged friends and well-wishers to pray for her as she goes under the knife in an undisclosed hospital.
Alhassan resigned from President Muhammadu Buhari’s cabinet and from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2018 in the build-up to 2019 general elections after failing to clinch the governorship ticket for Taraba State.
However, in a message on Twitter Monday, Mama Taraba said her surgery was successful and that she was recovering.
“Alhamdulillah! Alhamdulillah!! Alhamdulillah!!! My surgery was a success and I’m getting much much better everyday.
“Thank you all for prayers, family, friends and all concern Nigerians. Nagode sosai sosai”, she tweeted.
