A 26 year-old man, Abbas Sanusi, was on Thursday arraigned before a Kano Magistrates’ Court sitting at No Man’s Land for allegedly raping a minor.
Sanusi, of Kabara quarters in Municipal Local Government Area, was accused of defiling a three year-old girl, an offence contrary to section 283 of the penal code.
According to the First Information Report (FIR), the girl was sent by her mother to buy a sachet of pure water when the accused lured her into his shop at Kabara Quarters and defiled her.
The report said the girl was currently receiving treatment in one of the hospitals in Kano.
Presiding Magistrate Fatima Adamu ordered that the accused be remanded in prison custody pending the conclusion of investigation and adjourned the case till August 22 for further hearing.
