A 20-year-old woman, Blessing John, who was arrested by the police for allegedly biting her boyfriend’s genitals has been bailed by the same man.
Ms John was arrested on July 5 and detained at the State Criminal Intelligence Investigation Department (SCIID), Panti, Yaba, Lagos for biting her boyfriend’s manhood to escape alleged rape.
A police source told NAN on Thursday that John’s boyfriend, identified as Johnson, bailed her on July 15, same day he was discharged from the hospital.
The source said Johnson sold his property to pay his hospital bill.
John had told NAN that she bit her boyfriend’s genitals on July 5 at Surulere area of Lagos when Johnson invited her to his friend’s place.
She had requested his help in preparing a curriculum vitae.
“He tried taking my clothes off, which I refused and he slapped me twice. He took off his clothes and was putting on boxers and singlet, while he held on to my breast to pin me down.
“Johnson insisted on having sex with me and when I refused, he hit me on my back. I was so pained that I bit his manhood. I didn’t mean to harm him,” she said.
Blessing added that she took Johnson to a private hospital in Surulere, where the doctor requested the presence of a family member or the police before Johnson could be treated.
She was arrested after the hospital called in the police.
