A 35-year-old man, Jimoh Nurudeen, was on Thursday arraigned in an Osogbo Chief Magistrates’ Court, over alleged N430,000 fraud.
Nurudeen is facing a two – count charges bothering on fraud and theft.
The prosecutor, Insp. Olaiwola Rasaki told the court that the defendant committed the offences sometimes in May 2016 at Osunlepo compound, Kajola area, Osogbo.
Rasaki said that the defendant obtained N430, 000 from one Murtala Adetokun with the pretext to secure a plot of land belonging to Osunlepo family.
He said the defendant converted the money to his own use, without securing the plot of land which he was expected to erect a 4 bedroom flat as agreed.
The prosecutor said the offences contravened Sections 419 and 390(9) of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol. 11, Laws of Osun, 2003.
The defendant pleaded not guilty, while the Magistrate, Mrs Sodamade Fatima, granted him bail in the sum of N400,000 and one surety in like sum.
The case was adjourned until February 15 for hearing.
