Managing director and chief executive officer of NG Clearing Limited Farooq Oreagba joined guests on Monday night at the 248th America Independence Day celebration in Lagos.
The event themed ‘The Great American Roadtrip’ was hosted by the United States consul general Will Stevens at his residence in Ikoyi, Lagos.
Oreagba won the hearts of many for his appearance and style at the 2024 Ojude Oba Festival.
Pictures of him dressed in a lemon ‘agbada and shokoto’ outfit revealing his tattoos paired with a matching cap and a cigar in his mouth went viral on social media.
He was dubbed the “man of steeze” by netizens. The phrase means “a man of unique style”.
Oreagba, an investment professional, is a former head of the Nigerian Stock Exchange Consult.
He appeared formal at the Independence Day celebration dressed in a suit.
The event was attended by government officials, diplomatic corps members, Nollywood stars, media executives, influencers, and academic leaders.
Other notable attendees were Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, former presidential candidate Peter Obi, media entrepreneur Dele Momodu, actress Kate Henshsaw, singer and music executive Dare Art-Alade, chief executive officer of Zenith Bank Plc, Adaora Umeoji, content creators Layi Wasabi and Aproko Doctor among others.
Meanwhile, meals from Georgia, New York, Texas, and California were on display at the event.
In his speech, Stevens welcomed all the guests, saying July 4 is probably the most important date in the history of America.
Sanwo-Olu said the people and government of Lagos were honoured to identify with Americans on the Independence Day celebration.
“United States and Nigeria are the first and second largest presidential democracies in the world. That speaks a lot. The commonality and the real reason why we need to do things together,” he added.
