The accused, who resides in Ojoku around Olodi-Apapa, is facing a charge of murder.
The Prosecutor, Inspector Emmanuel Ajayi, told the court that the offence was committed on April 7 at 24, Ojoku Street, Olodi Apapa in Lagos.
Ajayi alleged that the accused stabbed Dennis, his wife, to death with a kitchen knife over allegations of infidelity.
“David confronted the deceased over allegations that she was cheating on him, a fight ensued, leading him to stab his wife to death,” he said.
Ajayi noted that the offence contravened Section 221 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The section prescribes a death sentence for offenders.
The plea of the accused was not taken by the court.
The Chief Magistrate, O. O. Olatunji, ordered that the accused be remanded at the Ikoyi Prisons pending the receipt of legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions.
The case was adjourned till July 17.
