General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God Pastor Enoch Adeboye on Sunday said a man took a loan to sponsor the church’s convention sometime ago and later became chairman of the bank he borrowed from.
Adeboye gave the testimony during his sermon titled ‘The shortest way to the greatest height’ which is part of his series ‘From lockdown to leaping up’.
He said about the man: “He came to me and said he wanted to sponsor the convention. He wanted to know how much it would cost. I told him I could not give a figure of that particular year but I could give him the figure of the previous year. So I gave him the figure. I thought he would shrink back. But he did not. He came later and brought the draft for the money. I was shocked.”
The RCCG leader said he discovered later that the man took a loan from a bank.
“But the good news is that he became the chairman of the bank he borrowed from,” he added.
Adeboye urged his listeners to make God a priority if they are going to get uplifted.
“You must ask yourself why do you want to prosper. The Bible encourages us to seek the kingdom of God first and other things will be added,” said Adeboye.
According to him, a Christian should aim to be wealthy in order to “attract more friends to the kingdom of God.”
