Manchester City have set new Premier League records for points win, games won and goals scored.
Wednesday’s win at the Etihad Stadium was City’s 31st of the season, breaking Chelsea’s record of 30 last season. City can extend their record on Sunday as the Premier League season concludes at Southampton.
Also gone is Chelsea’s record points tally of 95 as City collected their 95th, 96th and 97th points of the season. They will now be looking to hit triple figures at St Mary’s.
It’s three for three as City have also taken Chelsea’s record goal haul off 103, set in 2010, as Danilo, Bernardo Silva and Fernandinho scored in a resounding 3-1 victory over Brighton.
Other records City will likely break is the record goal difference – another of Chelsea’s – which currently stands at +71 from 2010. City have +76 heading into the final day.
City can even take Chelsea’s record of most away wins in a season with three points on Sunday, having equalled their tally of 15 from 19 games with a win at West Ham in April.
Finally, Liverpool’s record of away goals scored set in 2013/14 sits at 48. City currently have 44 so anything less than a five-goal thrashing against Southampton will leave that one intact.
