Masked gunmen have kidnapped Hauwa Yusuf, mother-in-law to Katsina state governor, Aminu Masari, at her Dandume crescent residence in Katsina.
The 80-year-old woman is the mother of Binta Masari, one of the three wives of the governor.
The gunmen were said to have stormed her residence at about 3 a.m. on Friday, carting away mobile phones.
Some members of the house were reported to have been beaten by the gunmen.
The police have not made an official statement on the incident.
