Matthew Ashimolowo not quitting preaching for real estate business – Femi Faseru

National superintendent and resident pastor of Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC) Pastor Femi Faseru has debunked claims that the founding pastor of the church, Matthew Ashimolowo, is set to retire to focus on real estate.

Faseru said in a statement on Tuesday that the 71-year-old still preaches between three and four times every week all over the world.

He noted that Ashimolowo ministers daily on ‘Morning Glow’ to people in over 50 countries.

Faseru said Ashimolowo is taking on fresh challenges and has only just established another independent ministry. He said the pastor does nine services weekly, including Sunday services.

Part of the statement said, “Ashimolowo’s telecast, Winning Ways, can be viewed all over Africa and Europe. His wife, Yemisi, and one of his sons, Pastor Tobi, are also working as ministers in the KICC.

“There is no iota of truth in the insinuation that Ashimolowo may have quit preaching the gospel to concentrate on real estate business.”

Faseru added that Ashimolowo recently held a groundbreaking ceremony for a 33-hectare estate in the Ibeju Lekki area of Lagos, which may have prompted some reporters to spread the narrative.

“This project may be what mischief makers have taken out of context without cross-checking available information. This type of journalism skirts the border of decency and injures the reputation of the victim while courting libel for the publisher. To be sure, Ashimolowo remains a proud soldier of Christ, preaching His gospel with renewed enthusiasm as he has done for close to 50 years,” he concluded.
