May Edochie, actress and estranged wife of actor Yul Edochie, has sparked reactions on social media after sharing photos of herself dressed like Mary, the mother of Jesus, in celebration of Easter.
The photos, posted on Monday on her Instagram page, were part of a creative collaboration with Omas Studios.
Captioning the photos, May wrote:
“Happy Easter from @omasstudios X @mayyuledochie!
Easter signifies the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
“Queen May X Omas studios here to remind us all pictorially to join our faith with that of Mary the mother of Christ.
“As we rejoice in the Resurrection, may we find peace in the gentle strength of the Virgin Mary, who stood at the cross and believed in the dawn. Amen.”
She also revealed a childhood dream of portraying the biblical figure, adding,
“Growing up, I had always longed to wear Mother Mary’s garment and imagined what she must have felt, but today I can say that it feels like being wrapped in the weight of grace… sacred, like a presence and not heavy like a burden.
‘It’s like a fabric of quiet strength, woven with humility, faith, and a mother’s unshakable love.”
The shoot has since drawn admiration from fans and followers, many of whom praised her poise and creativity.
One user wrote, “Mother Mary with the Steeze and Composure.”

May and Yul Edochie have been estranged since the actor introduced his second wife, Judy Austin, in 2022.
