Chairman of Lagos State parks and garages management committee Musiliu Akinsanya aka MC Oluomo has appealed to the Lagos State University (LASU) School of Transport and Logistics to collaborate with him on the training of commercial bus drivers.
MC Oluomo has been managing parks and garages in Lagos since pulling out of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in March.
Speaking at the LASU School of Transport and Logistics’ third lecture series held at the Majekodunmi Hall, LASU, Ojo, MC Oluomo said the collaboration between his committee and the school would help implement Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s THEMES agenda among bus drivers.
Represented by the assistant secretary of the committee Olayiwola Lemboye, the former NURTW boss emphasised the need for training and retraining of commercial bus operators.
“When our members go for training, they will learn new techniques of dealing with the public and maintenance of their vehicles. The majority of them will see the need to cooperate with the traffic officials and abide by the state’s transport regulations,” he said.
MC Oluomo was also presented an award of recognition as a major stakeholder in road public transport in Lagos State.
Head of the School of Transport and Logistics, Dr. Taiwo Salaam said MC Oluomo deserves the honour considering his strides in the public commercial transportation sector.
