Actress Mercy Aigbe and socialite Lara Olokotun better known as Larrit have engaged in a fight at an event in Lagos.
A video of the duo exchanging words was uploaded on Instagram on June 13.
In the video, Larrit could be heard raining curses at Mercy while the latter pretended to be ignoring her presence as she continued eating her food.
However, things got out of control when an angry Lara threw an object which many believed was a bottle aimed at Mercy Aigbe.
In the video, another actress Iyabo Ojo who also attended the event could be seen screaming and running for safety as Lara raised the object to hit Mercy Aigbe
The next video uploaded showed the celebrities arguing and shouting at each other on the street while the crowd and some police officers tried intervening.
Although the cause of the fight is not known to Qed.ng, controversial blogger Gistlover claimed the duo was fighting over Mercy Aigbe’s new husband movie producer Kazim Adeoti popularly known as Adekaz whom she often refers to as ‘D’Owner’.
The blogger further claimed that Mercy had earlier told the disc jockey of the event to play a diss track for Lara after the latter called her names.
Mercy revealed Kazim as her husband on his birthday in January 2022.
Reacting to the revelation, Kazim’s first wife Funsho Asiwaju claimed that Mercy was having an affair with Kazim before they got married.
She said: “You have been sleeping with Kazim since your son was only 5 months old. I introduced you to Kazim as my friend. I called and personally invited you and your ex-husband to the 40th surprise birthday party I did for my soon-to-be ex-husband.”
“You were a constant friend of mine back then. I brought you close as a friend because I liked you, but you repaid me by sleeping with my husband, Kazim. I’m DONE. He’s all yours, ENJOY. I’m really past this. Like I said in my first post, ‘Losing someone who does not respect or appreciate you is actually a gain, not a loss.’”
Mercy welcomed her son with her ex-husband, Lanre Gentry, in June 2010.
The 44-year-old separated from Gentry in 2017 after she alleged that she suffered domestic violence in her marriage.
